Updated: May 30, 2022

Today, British Vogue bolsters its commitment to eco-conscious fashion in collaboration with inspiring environmentally responsible fibre brand TENCEL™️ to reveal the new limited edition t-shirt; VOGUE x TENCEL™️* that promotes sustainable

design and celebrates TENCEL™️’s 30th anniversary this year.

Made from TENCEL™️ Lyocell fibres, a wood based and biodegradable fibre derived from sustainably sourced natural raw material wood, this innovative collaboration seamlessly blends the fashion heritage of Vogue with TENCEL™️’s pioneering speciality fibres to create a collection of beautiful and responsible garments. From

nature to fibre to fashion, TENCEL™️ Lyocell fibres have been shown to be fully compostable and biodegradable under various conditions* and revert back to nature in 6-16 weeks.

The first ever Vogue X TENCEL™ biodegradable T-shirt* is embroidered with the iconic Vogue logo, manufactured using TENCEL™ Lyocell fibres**, allowing for a breathable fabric, offering a smooth drape and exquisite softness that is gentle on skin and comes in four colourways inspired by nature: Northern Droplet, Perfectly Pale, Grey Melange and Faded Khaki.

2022 marks 30 years of TENCEL™ fibre innovation. Through this journey the TENCEL™ brand has inspired companies and brands to adopt more eco-friendly practices with a commitment towards encouraging consumers to make informed purchases. From their botanic origin, to the low environmental impact of production, to the eventual biodegradability in various conditions*, TENCEL™ fibres achieve admirable levels of sustainability.***

With an RRP of £80, the limited range of t-shirts will be available to purchase from April 29th.

From its inception, Vogue Collection has championed sustainability at every stage of the process, from the sourcing of materials to the production of designs. This collaboration between British Vogue and TENCEL™ marks an exciting first step into more sustainable products.

***Notes to Editors***

*The biodegradability of the t-shirt refers to raw white TENCEL™ Lyocell fibres which are used in the t-shirt production. The biodegradability and composability of TENCEL™ Lyocell fibres has been confirmed for soil, water, marine, home and industrial composting conditions.

**TENCEL™ Lyocell fibres have gained a commendable reputation for their environmentally responsible, closed loop production process, which transforms wood pulp into cellulosic fibres with high resource efficiency and low environmental impact. This solvent-spinning process recycles process water and reuses the solvent at a recovery rate of more than 99%. Consumers can have the assurance that their fashion choices are not contributing to an adverse impact on the environment.
